I have yet to lose any data.  I was referring to a nightmare fantasy of it
someday happening.

never happens with standard Windows or DOS.

Apparently, Windows CE likes to scan and format discs without permission of
the user.  So far, it's never happened to me!  I've had enough trouble with
my PC!
