In between batches I remove the chaff tray and put the end of the vacuum
into the bean chute and turn it on. You can watch the temp drop a degree
every second. have never had a problem with the hot air and the vacuum
cleaner as well, and this if with a very expensive cleaner.
When roasting a oversized batch ill put the beans before it comes up to temp
to give the roaster a chance to recover from the cold mass of beans.

Copy that--though I haven't taken off the glass. How do you keep the drum
in place without the glass end, i.e. while it's spinning?
I wonder would tell me how to change the programming...

I speed it up by taking out the filter and taking off the cover of the
chute and taking off the the glass end and turning the end in toward
the breeze. I guess one could also direct a fan into the opening.

Off topic, I know...apologies.
Is there a way to override the Hottop's requirement to cool itself to
163F after a batch before beginning to climb again for a second batch?
I use a much higher charge temp than that, and it takes forEVER to get
down and back up to temp.
Thanks all,
