Okay,

Now a slightly different answer.  I have had a Brutus III for about 1.5
years.  (Upgraded from a Sylvia.)  I leave mine on 24/7 unless on vacation.
I use it every morning and most evenings when the mood strikes. I tried
turning the system off but I missed the spontaneity of enjoying a cup when
someone visits. I shut off my air condition when not home and have a much
more substantial energy savings than shutting the Brutus off. ( I live in
south Louisiana where A/C is a dire necessity.) I have not (yet) had any
problems with having it on all the time. I do not know if this will shorten
its life or increase repair costs but let the good times roll.

Subject: Brewtus IV Question from new owner

Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a Brewtus IV as a replacement for my aging
Silvia. The merchant I puchased from recommended leaving the machine
on pretty much all the time, turning it off only once a week. I had my
Silvia on a timer and was planning to do the same with the Brewtus. I
was wondering what other people's thoughts were on this. I know it is
a well discussed topic elsewhere with other machines, but I'd like to
know what group members think specifically about the Brewtus. One
thing I was thinking of doing was leaving the brew boiler on and
shutting off the Steam boiler until needed.

Thanks and am looking forward to following this group in the future.

Pete
