Hi Ira,
I had searched the forum and found your advice from 2008 for
checking the water level sensor, that I did yesterday and all seemed
fine, after not autofilling I followed previous instructions and it
filled, drained and filled with the sensor hooked up. So I sent a
big thanks to you!
So as I never purge my steam boiler thought I'd do it again today,
Turned on, and made a coffee, then switched off and opened hot water
spout till drained. Turned on and steam boiler didn't fill. So I
opened her up and disconnected the water level sensor (single wire).
Turned on and nothing. Still no filling so I checked the wire for
any earthing back to the control unit, all fine, tried several times
with wire grounded and not, still no action. In the end gave up and
put it back together, turned on one last hopeful time and the steam
boiler filled up. Strange!
Can the control unit be on its way out? is it easy to get hold of,
do you have any more tests I could perform? I have a multimeter. I
have this Biii on all day every day from 8 - 6 ish.
So I guess we get to troubleshoot.
When the boiler doesn't fill, do the lights turn on when you flip the
switch? If so, which lights turn on?
Ira
