Hi Allen, You say you have a Brewtus 2 which suggests you've had it for at least a few years. I understood that if we don't do *something* with the water before it enters the machine, we will have lots of problems with scale causing some major performance issues. Perhaps you haven't had that which is very good for you.
BTW, I did some testing with a home aquarium kit and found the following: Distilled Water (base test) - 0 parts per million on total hardness tap water without the filter - 100 parts per million water after going through the BestMax filter - 30 parts per million This is a cartridge that needs replacing so that's not bad performance.
