I recently purchased a replacement 8mm gasket and screen for my Brewtus IV-R. The gasket is stamped "Brewtus" and 8mm so I know it is the part I wanted. But I am unable to properly seat the gasket. The porta-filter arm is at about the 7:30 position and the gasket is not flush with the housing.
I tried inserting the gasket without the basket and it fits perfectly. Also, outside of the brew group, the gasket fits over the basket without problem. If I insert the basket into the group head, I notice that I can slide it back and forth a little bit. That is, the basket is not a form fit. I suspect that the basket is just slightly too large and is preventing the gasket from compressing enough to fit. But that's all it is, a suspicion. Anyone have any advice? I hate to buy another screen and/or gasket if I will just end up with the same problem. Btw, I purchased both the Brewtus and these replacement parts from the Canadian distributor.
