P.S. Just reread your message and I think you are using the words basket and screen interchangeably, which leads to a little bit of confusion. The basket is where your coffee goes; the screen is the piece that sits between the group and the gasket and helps distribute water across the top of the coffee more evenly.
You may have therefore meant that the screen was loose in the group and not fitted well to the group itself; if that is true, you may be correct that it is not the correct size. However, if the gasket fits properly against the screen flare as I described in my first email, I think that the parts are probably okay and you just need a little more pressure to push things up into the group. Having the handle at 7:30 after putting in a new gasket is not unusual; As the gasket seats fully and wears a little bit the handle will come to 6 o'clock. b Sent from my 8-track deck On Jun 1, 2013, at 13:34, Ben McCafferty <[email protected]> wrote: > The gasket must be around the screen before installation.
