So, is there a specific question?

I bought a used Brewtus II a few years back, paid $750. It's used daily.
I've had a few issues with it, but overall it's worked fine. I've done the
following:
- replaced the main switch and some of the wiring because they were burnt
(it's an old machine and needed some maintenance)
- replaced the vibe pump - a wear item
- upgraded the controller to a PID with the WLL kit. The original
electronics started to go, so I rebuilt it.

When I have time, I'll go through the wiring again - I don't like how the
power connections are daisy chained. But it works great now.

If it runs, $500 is a good price. Be aware that eventually, you may have
to do some work on it.

No comment on the macap grinder, but it seems like a great deal. I've been
using a Baratza Vario - it works, but its a pia and falls out of adjustment
regularly.
