What are the common internal components that I should think about replacing? The Brewtus II is about 12 years old and I would like to get ahead of any problems that might happen in the next year or so.
A few weeks ago I had replaced the o-ring in the vacuum relief valve. I was seeing steam coming from the back of the B II. Probably from the steam boiler. Replacing the o-ring solved 80% of the problem. Replacing the vacuum relief valve fixed the rest of the steaming problem. I have had a series of small problems this past year that required opening the Brewtus II and fixing stuff. Wires from the PID had not loose connections and dropped off.. Had to be reconnected. A leak in plastic tube from brew boiler. It had a hole burned in when it touched copper pipe after insulation on pipe slipped. Rebuilt brew head with kit I bought from WLL. My BII did not have a PID. I had added a PID from WLL years ago. Not easy because Expobar, for about a year, had used an epoxy thread sealer when manufacturing it. I had to drive to Rochester to visit WLL to remove & replace the PID brew boiler temperature probe. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Brewtus" group.
