Agree with you, but as an aside, there is an easier way to remove the 
non-silicone pf gasket. No chiseling or screws or force required. 

Let the machine heat, remove the PF, then use a very small flathead screwdriver 
against the bottom lip of the screen and the edge of the group to lever it down 
in 2-3 places. It will come out easily, and bring the gasket with it. No damage 
to the screen if you’re gentle. Takes less than a minute. 

Hope that helps you and/or others! Also works great for the silicone one. 

My pf always sticks to the silicone gasket and the basket pops out of the pf. 
Any ideas?
