Sorry one last thought: Looks like the tubing may actually be 6MM OD not 1/4" try to confirm which one you've got. Parts Guru <https://shop.partsguru.com/Male-Elbow-1-4M-6mm-Fitting-30400020-30400010.htm> has the original part from the diagram, as does Cafe Parts <https://www.cafeparts.com/Elbow-Coupling-1/8"/Product/15795>.
