Thanks for all the reactions and useful info! 
Cutting in the tray for a basket to lower the scale (Panthecnician) sounds 
heavy. I always do a post and pre flush and then you have to remove the scale. 
Not optimal for a good workflow.
The stem option looks ok. A friend of mine is heavy into 3d printing. Maybe 
model a stem and print it. But the material has to be solid and stiff.
I keep you posted on my progress.
