They have in fact nothing to do with it, and shouldn't even show up on this list.
Someone on That Other List posted a comment about me which IMO warranted a response. As I can not post on-list there, I resorted to the method that comes closest to it, and sent my reply directly to a number of active subscribers.
David Hobby's messages show up here because for some reason he deemed it necessary to do send his replies to *this* list, even though he could just as well have sent his replies to That Other List or to the address from which my messages were sent.
To those of our listmembers who are not involved: my apologies for the inconvenience. Hopefully people will from now on only use this list for its intended purposes.
