Here are some numbers from PALE BLUE DOT by Carl Sagan:
Civilization-threatening impacts require bodies several hundred m across,
which impact roughly once every 200,000 years (p 313) He cites a one
in two thousand chance that a collision like that "will happen in the lifetime
of a newborn baby." (p 314)
