A) Get rid of the Electoral College. Its purpose is long since past.

B) Have what's known as an "automatic runoff" in which people list their 
second choice in case none of the candidates gets a majority. The third place 
candidate is removed and people who vote for him have their second choice 
votes counted.

C) Have some kind of uniform standard for ballots so that this utter nonsense 
in Florida cannot recur. A country this large, rich, and sophisticated should 
be able to develop some minimum standards for ballots for a presidential 
election.

D) They'll never do it, but if I lived in Palm Beach, I'd be thinking right 
now about hiring a lawyer to sue, for a redo.
