That was about a 60-40 split, which was fairly important.  But, it was far 
from the most important split.

Except for their subsidies, like below cost water, grazing, etc.  That's 
their natural right, and they'll deny the true costs with their dying 
breath.

Its more race then ecconomics.  Blacks voted about 10-1 Gore over Bush.  
According to exit polls (yea, they can be off a couple of precent), people 
making under 20k voted for Gore over Bush 63-33. People making 20-40k voted 
for Gore over Bush 51-45.

The median income of blacks in 199 is 28k, vs. 42.5k for whites. While that 
is significantly less than whites, one would expect the black vote to be 
close to the average of these two groups, with a bit of the 40-60 vote 
thrown in if ecconomics were the predominant factor. Since this average is 
Gore over Bush by only about 57-39, one can conclude, that it is not 
ecconomics.
