In the interests of your re-education, Alberto there are 16 ounces in a
pound, which makes both a unit of Force.   The Imperial measure of mass is
the slug, and with a name like that it is obvious why we don't use it.   

Still, at least Farenheit is a much better system for everday temperatures
than Celsius.  Also, I would have to say that measuring the height of
people in feet is far more useful than a bizarre 1.3 metres.
