I like Andromeda a lot. (I also liked Blakes 7 a lot. Doctor Who, too, but 
that's for another day...)

 I see your point about how close Andromeda is to B7. The difference is, in 
B7, Blake was fighting a very definite evil, one he knew up-close and 
personal. An evil that was both abstract (the Federation) and literally 
personified in Travis and Servalan. 

Dylan Hunt has no such clearly defined evil to confront or enemy to struggle 
against. This is both a weakness of the show (nothing makes a good adventure 
show quite as much as a good Bad Guy) and a strength (Blake knew what he was 
fighting against, and they knew him - small universe? perhaps too small).

Give Andromeda a chance.
