Constitutional democracy GOOD
Totalitarian dictatorship BAD
To notice that we (along with many of our neighbors) live in a
constitutional democracy while others live in totalitarian
dictatorships is not hypocracy. Believing that freedom is preferable
to slavery is not hypocracy. We can believe that our governmental
systems are preferable to others without believing that our
governmental systems are perfect.
See David Brin's various rants about social T-cells, doctrine of
otherness, etc, etc. We shouldn't let our awareness of the faults of
our system blind us to our strengths.
