To be fair, most "gunpowder" these days is of the so-called "smokeless 
powder" variety, and is made from other chemicals such as cellulose 
nitrate.  Very few people, such as the "black powder" firearm enthusiasts 
and Civil War re-enactors, use real gunpowder (a mixture of KNO3, sulfur, 
and charcoal) today.
