And exactly how many of those millions of Americans only went to war
because they were *ordered* to go? Many of America's wars were fought by
people who went to the front because they were drafted, not because they
wanted to go.
BTW, don't you ever grow tired of that "Americans who gave their lives"
rhetoric? I doubt many of them went to war to "give their lives"; they just
happened to be in the wrong place when the bullets started flying and the
bombs started dropping.
This isn't something that only happens in the US. It also happens here in
The Netherlands: nationalist newspapers still use the "brave men who gave
their lives" rhetoric when WW2 is a topic, and they still refer to Dutch
troops abroad not as "Dutch troops" but as "our boys". IMHO, it's pathetic.
As for the "defending human rights" you mention, I find it a typical case
of double standards. The US claims to be "defending human rights" all over
the world, but at the same time has no problem violating human rights at
home. Last time I checked (about 15 minutes ago...), executing prisoners
was still a violation of human rights. Worse yet, the US is one of only
seven countries that even execute juveniles and mentally retarded prisoners(*).
(*) The US finds itself in charming company: Congo, Iran, Nigeria,
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Yemen.

Has it occurred to you that Kat is too young to have fought in any of
America's wars? But of course, being a war veteran yourself, you have the
right to feel superior to Kat. Exactly what war did you fight in, again?
