That is no guarantee. After several years of being secured to the wall and
holding my back issues of _Physical Review_, a set of shelves decided to
release their hold on the wall and come down on my father. (I don't know
the exact circumstances--e.g., whether he was attempting to put some more
books on the shelves or something like that and disturbed a fragile
equilibrium--as I was not present at the time.) Fortunately, the results
were about the same as what happened in Julia's case.
