I just can't remember seeing a Mile Creek >11. Probably is.
And I've never quite worked out if they are named based on length of creek
or (the most likely) distance from or to somewhere. That is, this creek is
11 miles away from Upper Kumbukna West.
Something mile creeks - noone has gone around metricating them, sorry
Alberto - are almost a cliche cos they're so common. A bit like "Narrow
Bridge" signs are in rural New South Wales they just pop up all the time.
The other cliche is the name of the hotel in a town. The main contenders are
"Royal Hotel" and "Railway Hotel". It only ever seems to be one or the
other, except in a larger town you'll probably have both. The town I grew
up in had a Royal Hotel right next to the railway, but then it only had one
survivor of the original 4 pubs of 100 years ago.
