I have no doubt that developing a missile defense will be very hard, but
that is hardly an excuse for not even attempting to meet the moral
imperative of self defence.    If missile technology is feasible, it should
be deployed.   If the technology is not feasible, then we should be
devoting a good deal of our energies to developing the technology to make
it feasible.   The world certainly doesn't intend to wait for us to catch up.
