Since the translations of the Bible are done by multiperson teams including people of various faiths and lack of faith, how can the translations be tainted by 2000 years ofCatholic politics? There are families of ancient texts in Greek and Hebrew that are used. For the New Testament, see "The Text of the New Testiment" by Bruce Metzger, the chair of the NRSV translation committee. The process is quite facinating, and difficult to attribute to Catholic politics. We have many many more ancient texts of scripture than any other set of books. Dan M.
