In my very first post on the subject, I specifically stated that I was
*NOT* arguing that it is OK to be arrogant.
In case you missed it, I repeated the matter in two of my next four posts
on the matter.
And if that still wasn't enough, once Dan Minette explaned my position in
other terms, I *twice* drew attention to that post.
Yet, after all this, some people still insist upon arguging against a
position that I do not hold. Indeed, no Brin-L'er holds that position, as
far as I could tell. I simply just never got what the point of that
exercise was.
As far as the other responses being minor nitpicking, at least one
list-member wrote:
"Btw in the mean time a lot of the items in that post have been stricken
because they weren't sole or major American accomplishements at all."
To me, "a lot" =/ "nitpicking."
