I'm probably going to regret saying this...but I've considered leaving the
list more than once because of you Jeroen. I haven't done it, but I've
come close. Do you want to guess why? I didn't because you have the
right to say whatever you want on this list - even when I consider some of
those things to be vile - and it's not worth leaving a fascinating
intellectual community because of that. Were I to leave, I hope that
people on this list would not send nasty messages to you blaming you for
my departure - particularly if I didn't even have the courage to explain
my reasons for doing so.
