Why? I have no personal problem with Jeroen - or anyone else on the list,
for that matter. I think the list would be a vastly poorer one were he
not participating in it. I don't have to agree with someone to enjoy
interacting with them. He is as free to express his opinions as I am to
express mine. Mine are unpopular, of course, and you don't agree with
them. I don't agree with his (or yours) either. In fact, I didn't
really believe that there _were_ liberals like you until I read your
posts on the list. That's fine. There's nothing personal
there. What astonishes me, however, is that the reverse courtesy is not
extended to John and me by you. Why was I the only person who defended
John? Not that he needs it.
Why do _you_ seem to feel that the only legitimate
expression of opinion is one in accordance with your own - that all of
your political opponents are evil, as you recently argued. I believe
you're from Berkeley, but surely even there you must have met at least one
or two conservatives :-)
