At 09:38 30-7-01 -0700, Dean Forster ranted:

>Your posts are frequently general and insulting attacks on America and

Can you back that up with a number of examples of both general and specific
attacks, say ~10 of them, from several periods in the three years that I've
been a member of this community? (Lessee, 10 examples from a 36-months
period, that would be <quick calculation> ... one example from every 3-4
month period.)

FYI, I never wrote anything with the intent of insulting America or
anything or anyone having to do with it. I criticize it often, yes, but I
don't believe my comments and observations are "frequently general and
insulting attacks". Unless of course you consider any and all criticism of
America to be "general and insulting attacks"... -- in which case you'd
better leave this *international* community and find yourself a mailing
list or newsgroup that's open to US residents only -- Praise_America-L or
something.

BTW, how long have you been subscribed to Brin-L? According to my records,
you've only been here for a little over two months (you first posted on May
15, 2001, in which you described yourself as "the new guy on the board" --
which indicates you're probably not a long-time lurker).

>You have a tremendous amount of gall to show your surprise towards me at

It seems you don't know what the meaning of smileys is. When a comment is
followed by a smiley, the smiley indicates that the comment is not meant to
be taken serious.

BTW, can you also give examples of those "particularly scathing remarks"
and my "feigned ignorance"? (And when you go look for them, keep in mind
what I just wrote about smileys.)

>Were I you, I wouldn't tout the rules of Brin-L so loudly knowing that I

That's odd. I've been on this list for three years, but I don't remember
anyone ever accusing me of violating the Etiquette Guidelines during that
time. You're the first one -- and since you've only been here for about 10
weeks, your accusation isn't exactly a very credible one.

>fyi- I had the decency to insult you directly and specifically.

Ah, a new development: nowadays insulting someone is considered "decent
behavior". Man, I must be growing old... :-)

Got to give you credit, though: at least by directly attacking me you don't
even try to hide your contempt for the Etiquette Guidelines... :-(

>to prevent further disruption of the list, i'm not going to reply back
>to any replies you or anyone else makes to this. You wanted an answer,
>you got it.

What, you're not going to back your accusations with proof? Well, see you
in court, then. OTOH, I don't think it will be a loss to this list if we
never hear from you again...
