As someone whose ancestors on both sides of my family have been in
North America since the late 1600's, and who have been citizen's of
the United States of America since it's founding, and who has voted
in every election since I turned 18 - and who has been reading the
Brin List for most of the last two years - I have _Never_ seen a post
by Jeroen Baardwijk which I felt attacked or insulted the United
States, or North Americans, in any way, shape, or form. Disagreement,
and even Criticism, is not insulting and is not an attack. In fact
Disagreement and Criticism are fundamental 'American' traits - and
are absolutely essential to whatever claim to 'Greatness' this nation
may have. Thus, in my view, if Jereon Baardwijk is 'guilty' of
anything it is in being 'An American' in the best possible sense of
the term. (sorry Jereon, Dutch citizenship won't protect you from
that!)

christopher
