Except that you simply cannot make a movie that is completely chock-full of
Shakespeare illusions, sub-title it the "Unidiscovered Country", and then
say that the undiscovered country was really "peace", not "death."
Feh.
Besides, the Creators wrote Kirk as a near-mythic hero. What better way
to actually fulfill their writing than by having him die in the cause of
peace????
Of course, if Trek was ever actually good storytelling, we might never have
gotten Babylon 5 - so maybe it was all worth it.
Yeah, Babylon 5..... sigh.
