I'd say most of your "excessive" definitions are excessive. So, what
would not be excessive?
I think both sides are to blame, but Israel's main crime is occupying
lands that aren't theirs by international law. The settlers need to be
reined in and the occupied lands returned. Once that happens, if the
attacks on Israel continue, then they are a lot more justified in taking
the actions that they currently are taking.
