It is a tracking mechanism. I do not allow myself to be tracked this
way. I do not allow cookies, I do not allow java or activeX controls and
I use webwasher daisy-chained to proximitron to filter every web-page,
(web-bugs, ads, crap, etc.).

It is just as easy to ignore an email.

It is not that easy. It takes quite a bit more effort than sending an
email. I hope you mean 'copy' and 'paste' instead of 'attach'. I have
this tendancy to Bitch-Slap anyone who sends me HTML messages.
