I had some difficulty getting the purchase of my car processed when I
moved from VT to MA - taxes and paperwork like you wouldn't believe, not
to mention emissions clearances, etc etc etc.. then when I moved to WA,
WA wouldn't accept my purchase of a vehicle from VT when I was living in
MA without it first being registered in MA, meaning that I will have to
pay sales/use tax on the vehicle in 3 states, plus the attendant fees
and registrations. I can't get a new WA driver's license because, since
my VT one expired, I have to retake the road test in a WA
registered/insured vehicle. (Speaking of insurance, ever been a 26 year
old male trying to get an unregistered car that you technically don't
own insured?)

Right now what I'm hoping to do is sell my car using my brother (who is
still technically the owner) as the owner, obviating the need for paying
3 states worth of taxes (yes, this is legal, I asked) and then buy a
new(er) car here - what a hassle :(
