> > Not you specifically, but in general, yes. Do you deny that there is a > certain arrogance and sense of entitlement that comes with being a Yankee > fan? See, I don't think there is that level of arrogance. We really would never think of calling ourselves, "America's Team". By and large we haven't even been New York's team. The city has always been more of an NL than an AL town. So our team and their fans learned to go about their business quietly.
If you read Marvin's message about Cowboy fans, would you say it's the > same attitude, oftentimes? As I have said to a much smaller extent due to presence of the NL and all of the other successful sports franchises in the areas that compete for attention. > > >Lets get things straight. But would > you agree there's plenty of front-runner Yankee fans as well? Yes probably. But at what point does a kid who started rooting for them 6 or 7 years ago turn from a front runner into a loyal fan. We will see. Like the market everthing runs in cycles and the Yankees will surely hit a down turn at some point (like if George doesn't quickly resign Torre and Cashman). > > > The stuff here is a light hearted joke. > > Yankee fans do not go around calling themselves "America's Team". He is wonderful with the fans and from everything I have read about him from everything he has said you could not find a better example for kids. , > and Roger Clemes, Roger is truly nuts and I was not happy when they traded for him. I think the first time with Piazza he was throwing at him - not necessarily to bean him but to let him know he wasn't worried about beaning him. The broken bat incident. Well, I think he snapped. But this year he has been a gem. Not just for his record but for his attitude. The Yankee stuff seems to have rubbed off on him and he had a very positive effect on Petit and others. who's a mental case, you are correct.
