It's free -- my office pays for it :) And I'm penny-pinching for my wedding
and honeymoon.

That's the *only* reason I use AOL. The disadvantages and annoyances the
service provides could take up pages and pages. AOL has been an incredible
pain in the neck for me over the years... and my next upgrade will no doubt
be to a cable connection, and an outrageously high-priced, high-bandwidth
where I'm sure, I'll be able to use anything and everything I want. I'm
hoping to switch within the next 6 months.

The inability to use an intelligent mail client like Eudora or even M$
Outlook is really driving me nuts... I miss being able to autosort my mail
and organize it properly. And, quite frankly, I'm using Agent for
Newsgroups, Opera to surf the web and AOL to send and receive e-mail. I'd
like to be able to use one program for everything eventually.

I do plan to Rob's advice and research the possibility of an alternate POP3
acct. If it gives me back a smart mailbox, even temporarily, it'll be worth
it.

FYI, mail I send from my office will not have an HTML signature, I think
(like this one), because the Mac AOL client software doesn't add in html
tags. The mail I send from home or from a PC using AOL will, I think.
