Jabber is a nice idea and I'm sure it'll become the standard eventually, but
as yet - at least for Windows - none of the clients are particularly
powerful and they don't have much functionality. Until Jabber matures, I'm
using Trillian, which allows you to do IRC, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo and MSN. They
just released a new version, you can get it at
