the population that is making war on you. In peacetime, Israeli
Arabs arguably have greater rights and freedoms than the rest of the
Arab world.
I would go so so far as to say that the real reason for continuing
conflict in the Middle East has less to do with Palestinian
sovereignty and more to do with the threat of a free, democratic
nation in the midst of kingdoms and dictatorships. As long as Arab
despots can get their people to hate Israel for whatever reason,
they have little to worry about the infectious influence of a free
democratic republic.

I have also read that Jordan does not want the West Bank back
either, though I may have misunderstood.
You must realize, Jeroen, that if the Arabs really wanted peace with
Israel, the conflict would have been over decades ago. This is
painfully obvious to any one that pays even the slightest attention
and harbors no bias.
