>Well, what you heard on the evening news is further evidence of how out of >touch your news media is. >Baseball, in January.
Maybe it was not baseball but some other sporting event -- I am not sure. I do remember though that they mentioned a sporting event, to point out that people in Washington seemed to be more interested in something relatively unimportant, than in violations of international standards by their own government. When it comes to "being out of touch", I think that maybe getting a sporting event wrong (but that could very well be my mistake) is nothing compared to NPR's double standards when it comes to reporting about Israel and the Palestines (see Nick Arnett's post). Jeroen You mean the Olympics? Really I don't think 'people in Washington' care about any sporting event other than politics. I am referring to the government, not to individuals.....you know what I mean. I am not surprised by the NPR post at all. If people use that as their only source of news...well I do know people who use that as their only source and I value their opinion right above my cat's. When I drive I wil put on NPR when I can't find a song. Within minutes I am either laughing or screaming because of their factual mistakes. I think NPR is where the C journalism students go.
