Hitting a kangaroo in my car would do a hell of a lot of damage, but in a small car it can be deadly. (I've seen a Toyota Celica which was totally destroyed when a 'roo hit it - not the other way round) The road trains just hit the livestock and keep on truckin'... Doesn't even slow them down. The road trains aren't allowed in the cities - they park outside and bring the sections in one at a time. Out of interest, they are commonly 66 wheelers, as our regular semi-trailers are 26 wheelers rather than 18 with 3 rear axles on the tractor and 3 on the trailer. I've only ever seen one 86 wheeler, but they do exist.
