Not that it'll do any good because the way it is stated above intentionally or unintentionally Ilana knows that Sharon had nothing to do with Sabre and Shatila and I'm more than convinced that certain listmembers will probably call it propaganda and lies anyway but maybe because of this: http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/audiovideo/programmes/panorama/newsid_1381000/1381328.stm and I know I wasn't allowed to use that but it gives quite a good insight. But there is also http://news.bbc.co.uk/hi/english/in_depth/middle_east/israel_and_the_palestinians/profiles/newsid_1154000/1154622.stm from which 'His controversial visit last year to the al-Aqsa mosque compound in east Jerusalem, a site which is also holy to Jews, was one of the sparks for the second Palestinian intifada (uprising). Cynics say Mr Sharon knew the visit would trigger violence and gambled on the Israeli public turning to a tough leader like him who would know how to handle it firmly. But once again, Mr Sharon is not interested in what cynics or anyone might say. In the recent election campaign he said he was prepared to make peace with the Arabs, but not under threat. Above all, he would do nothing that undermined "the rights of Jews to live safely in their own land". Ariel Sharon's mission - his enemies call it a dangerous obsession - is to fight for Israel's security, believing all the while that the end justifies the means.' And I agree with everybody that this is absolutely no proof whatsoever. Just a number of impressions. > Jeroen > <<Since we (Europeans) are not directly involved in the conflict, we get a > better overview of what is happening. Try typing 'Israel Palestine' in the search area and see the contents. I spent an evening reading and researching threads. I consider the BBC rather good and mostly unbiased. They have after all a reputation to uphold. My selection however is not unbiased I admit that. I trust Ilana will now go on listing the atrocities commited by the Palestinians..... <sigh> > Ilana wrote about Israeli Army leaving Lebanon > << By the way Moslems already returned the favor)>> > > Jeroen either didn't understand the reference or preferred to ignore it > <<Let me guess: Israel was outraged because of that, and promptly > retaliated.>> > > Israel let Moslem kill Christians who fought side by side with Israeli > soldiers for several years and done nothing. Call me biased but when I read stuff like this I think the Palestines do have a case somewhere in there. And I admit I was very selective and left out the attacks of Palestinians on Israelis.
