Well, is there no safer car that you can get for $20k more?, $50k more? $100k more? FWIW, I survived a side impact at 50 in a Rabbit 20 years ago. :-) Unless you are a multi-billionaire, you have to sometimes make a cost/benefit analysis with your own life.
