Fortunately for you, most people here also speak English. All you need to 
learn at first is to say "good morning", "goodbye" and "thank you" in 
Dutch; you can (and will) learn the rest once you get here. With a bit of 
effort, after a year you will speak Dutch as if you have spoken it all your 
life. (Although there is no telling how long it will take you to get rid of 
that American accent.)
