I was simply addressing the reasoning that someone denying being anti--Semitic is evidence that they are not. An analogy would be "he is a vegetarian so he must be a good person." being countered by "well Hitler was a vegetarian." That should not be taken as "vegetarians are evil" but "vegetarians may be evil." I'm a bit surprised by the hurt, because you drew a much closer analogy between Israel and Nazis. The "living space" that the Nazi's required was essentially all of Europe, with the extermination of lesser races being part of the program. I'm sure you knew that. The "living space" that the Jewish people in Israel want is their own country where they don't have to fear mass executions by the government. How can you be so sensitive to language that did not equate you with the KKK, but simply attacked the syllogism used in the argument, and yet use the Nazi's excuse word for the policy of overrunning Europe and murdering those they considered lesser races. Finally, it is by a quirk of the language that bias against Jews is called anti-Semitism. Bias against Arabs is called something else, even though Arabs are Semites. In addition, Arabs can be anti-Semitic, even though they are Semites. Your argument is like arguing that someone didn't go back and forth because you have to go forth before coming back. Dan M.
