I agree with the sentiment as stated. Acts of intolerance are intolerable. Yet it is arrogant to assume that you know "how Jeroen should have answered." I myself strongly disagree with Jeroen on this subject (and I applaud Marvin for making my case much more eloquently and intelligently than I myself could,) but Jeroen has a right to disagree without us putting words in his mouth. An observation I have made onlist before still stands: It is useless to argue with someone that refuses to ever accept that their position may be inaccurate or wrong when presented with evidence of such. Bashing at them is futile if no goal is being realized. What purpose do such attacks serve? I think perhaps some of us (myself included) need to recognize that this is a polarized topic that has no clear 'winner' and never will. In arguing it, our list constantly divides itself along certain lines that don't ever change. No one ever changes their minds. So why discuss it further?
