Well, Denmark is a special case since they had a small Jewish population, and it was relatively easy for them to smuggle the Jews into Sweden. But that was not all that Denmark's officials did. They constantly badgered the German government about the treatment that those Danish Jews who were sent to the camps were receiving. According to the US Holocaust Museum's web site, about 10% of Danish Jews who were sent to the camps perished. There were other instances of protection and rescue, but AFAIK, only the Danish government put a priority on protecting their Jewish citizens. john
