I heard another persuasive argument.  If Peter Parker was actually able to create a 
substance that would stick well enough to hold 10 tons, but would still dissolve on 
its own after about an hour, well, he'd be able to write his own ticket.  No more need 
to worry about Aunt May's health, that's for certain! :-)
