"I resemble that remark" is something like "I'd resent that remark,
except it's too darn close to the truth, and I'm keeping a sense of
humor about the whole thing."  I had a roommate in college who used it a
lot.

Dan can probably clarify better than I, though.  And he can probably
draft a much more humorous response to your query than I.
