I wonder what finer nuance I missed this time. I think that the other part that you might miss is the sound in English. One hears, Hey, I res.... and automatically fills it in with "ent". So, the mind wants to fill the remark with "Hey, I resent that remark." But, the person who hears it can often get it corrected in their mind quickly, so it creates an audio double take. The humor is that the person making the remarkis only playing at being angry and accepts the gigging with good humor and as fairly valid. Dan M.
