No, the article said Arabs did complain about the character within the 
article.  They claimed that Jango was portrayed as an Arab terrorist.  See 
mention of Jango's son's calling him "baba" being Arabic for "Father."

Well, no, not really.  The article did address the critics' concern about 
Jimmy Smits... namely that he had very few lines and screen time compared to 
the bad guy.  And while IMO the critics are making a big deal out of 
nothing, it's never pleasant to see negative racial stereotypes portrayed on 
screen and that's what they're perceiving.

I would bet that if Jango had been flamboyantly gay, gay and lesbian rights 
groups would have blasted this movie for the same reason.

If I may ask... how many of you that _don't_ have a problem with Jango 
Fett's character _did_ perceive a problem with Jar Jar Binks character (or 
that of the Trade Federation members) in TPM?
